Our first stop on our summer road trip was in Greenville, SC, we stayed at the Paris Mountain State Park while were there, read our campground review here.
When I was researching a place for our first stop – I looked into Greenville, since it was a great half point for our drive. It really seemed to have a lot to do and just a beautiful place to visit. We also have a good friend that lives there so it ended up being an easy place to pick.
Where’s what we did while we were in town:
- Had dinner with a friend and walked around in the area of Falls Park on the Reedy.
This is a beautiful area with lot’s of restaurants and shop as well as a beautiful waterfall worked right into the downtown area. A must see while in Greenville.
- Found some Mice on Main.
- Visited Swamp Rabbit Grocery and Cafe for breakfast. This grocery store is located right off the Swamp Rabbit Bike Trail. Greenville is an amazing place for cyclists. The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 21 mile multi-use greenway system, that hopefully someday we’ll get to try out. The Swamp Rabbit Grocery Store and Cafe is just delicious. I think Greenville could be a foodies paradise.
- Took Liam to the Children’s Museum of the Upstate, which was a huge hit for him. We spent several hours at this museum and saw every inch of it. It is a pretty cool place and if you are traveling with kids I can’t think of a better place to bring them.
- Shopped at Trader Joe’s. We do not have a Trader Joe’s within 2 hours of us so since one was nearby we did our grocery shopping for the trip – we love that place.
